Online bookie Mr Bit takes main sponsorship of Bulgarian second tier league
June 15 – Bulgarian online bookmaker Mr Bit has taken the naming rights to the country’s second tier professional league. The sponsorship, agreed with the Bulgarian Football Union BFU, is for an initial two years with the possibility to expend for a further season. The league will be named the Mr Bit Second League. The sponsorship will see each club in the league receive BGN 40,000 (€20 000) per year on the condition that the clubs use it to develop their children’s and youth schools according to a BFU-administered methodology.
