Saad told MENA on Saturday 1/11/2025 that Bulgaria is keen to participate in this global event at the highest level of representation—the President of the Republic—which reflects its deep appreciation for Egypt’s leadership, government, and people, and its pride in Egypt’s great civilization.
He pointed out that the GEM opening ceremony has been attracting wide attention at both the official and popular levels in Bulgaria, noting that the Bulgarian state television hosted him in a special interview where he provided extensive coverage of the opening preparations, highlighting that the eyes of the world are turning to Egypt to follow this historic event.
Saad noted that relations between Egypt and Bulgaria have witnessed a new start with a strong push during the era of President Sisi, pointing out that Sofia highly appreciates Egypt’s stances supporting peace, stability, and development in the world.
The Ambassador concluded that the Bulgarian President’s participation in Egypt’s celebration of the GEM opening comes simultaneously in light of the two countries approaching the centennial celebration of the establishment of their diplomatic relations early next year.
